Greetings everyone! After a five year hiatus, I've decided to brush up on my Web design skills, clear out the dust and cob webs, and overhaul my Web site. I've chosen to stray from a self-indulgent portfolio site, like my old site, in favor of something that resembles what an experiment might yield were you to throw Veer, Design Observer, Monocle and Wikipedia into a cup together and steep them in
hot water.

I realize that the result of this experiment will not be as useful as Veer, as sophisticated and robust as Design Observer and Monocle, or as informative as Wikipedia; however, I do hope you find something here that satisfies your intellectual taste buds. My aim is that this site will serve as a compendium of useful facts and insightful, uplifting commentaries that will help you to make sense of an increasingly complex and confusing world. And I hope to do it in a witty and aesthetically pleasing way. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down as a famous nanny once said.

To the left you will notice four categories. The first, Identify, is full of quick news items plucked from the stream of current events, culture and design. The second category, Inform, serves as a resource for worthy social, environmental and humanitarian causes that deserve to have the spotlight shined squarely upon them. Next there's, Explain, where you will find in-depth articles written by a collective of of friends and colleagues I've had the pleasure to make the acquaintance of during my time as a student and professional. These articles are written on a wide array of topics including—but not limited to—design theory, cultural issues, faith, science & technology, politics...essentially all the things you typically aren't supposed to talk about in polite company. The forth and final category called, Sketch, is my ode to the lost art of sketching—in my opinion, still the most effective way to quickly generate ideas and capture them in visual form. In this section I've posted some of my favorite sketches from past projects I've worked on. So, in the future, instead of throwing your sketches away, scan them, submit them and show the world what goes on in your head as your brainstorming.

Please, feel your way around the site, stay a while, come back often, and, most importantly, add your own comments. Your feedback will help to direct what—and how much—is covered in the future.
